Session 6: Scientific Confirmation

Reading: John Losee, A Historical Introduction to the Philosophy of Science, chs. 12–16
The sixth and final session will turn to the problem of scientific confirmation, reading selections from John Losee’s A Historical Introduction to the Philosophy of Science (Chapters 12–16, especially ch.16). The session is designed to bring the club's earlier discussions full circle: after examining the social dimension of science through Latour and Woolgar, students are now asked to reconsider its logical dimension — and, more importantly, the relationship between the two.
